MCS charging hub, Ekoenergetyka

Ekoenergetyka opens first MCS charging hub for electric trucks in Germany under Axon Charger brand

Ekoenergetyka has opened its first Megawatt Charging System (MCS) installation in Germany – a new public charging hub for electric trucks in Bochum. Developed together with Graf Transporte and nanuq, the project brings high-power EV charging to the Ruhrgebiet, one of Europe’s most important logistics regions, and marks the first charging hub delivered under Ekoenergetyka’s new Axon Charger product brand.

Public MCS charging hub for electric trucks in Bochum

Located in the Ruhrgebiet, the Bochum charging hub is designed to support the growing demand for reliable electric truck charging infrastructure. The region is one of Europe’s major logistics centres, making access to high-power charging particularly important for the electrification of regional and long-haul transport.

The public charging hub is available 24/7, allowing electric truck operators to access high-power charging alongside their daily logistics operations.

The site features two split charging configurations based on Axon Charger technology. The first combines the Axon Sat MCS with the Axon Side DLBS, providing Megawatt Charging System technology for electric heavy-duty vehicles. The second combines the Axon Sat HPC with the Axon Side DLBS, providing flexible high-power charging for electric trucks.

By combining MCS and high-power charging capabilities, the hub can respond to different operational requirements and support the continued growth of electric heavy-duty transport.

First Ekoenergetyka MCS installation in Germany

The Bochum project represents an important milestone for Ekoenergetyka. After successful installations in Scandinavia, Poland and France, it is the company’s first MCS installation in Germany, bringing Megawatt Charging System technology into real-world heavy-duty transport operations.

MCS is designed to enable significantly higher charging power for electric trucks, helping reduce charging times and making battery-electric heavy-duty transport increasingly suitable for demanding logistics operations.

The project demonstrates how high-power charging infrastructure for electric trucks can be integrated into an operational logistics environment and made available to multiple transport operators through a public charging model.

Axon Charger is Ekoenergetyka’s new product brand for advanced EV charging solutions. Built on years of experience and thousands of charging projects, the brand focuses on delivering reliable, flexible and scalable charging infrastructure for the evolving needs of electric mobility.

The Bochum hub demonstrates this approach in practice, combining both MCS and CCS connectors for electric trucks and support the future expansion of heavy-duty charging infrastructure.

Strong partnership with nanuq and Graf Transporte

The charging hub was developed through cooperation between Ekoenergetyka, nanuq and Graf Transporte, bringing together charging technology, infrastructure expertise and real-world logistics experience.

The project also highlights the development of Ekoenergetyka’s growing distributor network. nanuq is part of this network and has worked closely with Ekoenergetyka throughout the project. Following training at the Axon Charger Training Center, the nanuq team was able to apply its product knowledge and technical expertise directly to a real-world electric truck charging project.

For Graf Transporte, the new charging hub provides access to high-power charging as the company continues to move towards the electrification of its heavy-duty fleet.

Supporting the electrification of heavy-duty transport

Following projects in Scandinavia, Poland and France, the Bochum hub marks another important step in the expansion of MCS and high-power charging infrastructure for electric trucks in Europe.

With its 24/7 public access, flexible charging configurations and location in one of Europe’s key logistics regions, the Bochum hub shows how charging infrastructure can support the transition from conventional heavy-duty transport to zero-emission mobility.

For Ekoenergetyka, the project marks both a new chapter for Axon Charger and an important milestone in bringing Megawatt Charging to the European market.
