Introduction
Nowadays information is the greatest asset. Every year, the number of devices we use for communication by means of various applications is growing. Very often, these applications make it possible not only to download data, but also to manage and control it. Charging stations are not different in this regard. Data preview in chargers eliminates operational risk, and the collected and analyzed data from networked charging stations enables drawing specific analytical conclusions.
Monitoring systems and charging stations should be characterized by interoperability in order to monitor and manage charging infrastructure by any manufacturer. This can be ensured by choosing a system compatible with the OCPP protocol (describing the manner of communication between charging stations and monitoring and management systems). Currently, the most reliable protocol version is OCPP 1.6-J. OCPP 2.0.1 provides a completely different approach compared to the OCPP 1.6-J, due to this fact the market implementation of the new standard requires a lot of development work on the CP and CS side.. Because of the above, most of the existing charging stations are not OCPP 2.0.1 compliant so it is OCPP 1.6-J that still provides the highest level of interoperability and also stands the most reliable communication standard. All previous versions of the protocol are based on outdated technology and – in principle – it’s not recommended to use it anymore.
Ekoenergetyka-Polska, as an active member of Open Charge Alliance (a global consortium of public and private leaders in electric vehicle infrastructure promoting the open standard Open Charge Point Protocol OCPP), ensures compatibility of its products with the OCPP protocol (version 1.6-J, but at the same time we are constantly working on adjusting our products to make them fully compliant with OCPP 2.0.1).
Apart from charging stations, our portfolio also includes IT systems, which support the functionalities of the former by using the potential offered by the OCPP protocol. Thanks to the use of the open communication protocol, our systems can monitor and manage any OCPP-compliant charging stations by any manufacturer*.
*an exception is the CMC tool, which is an application embedded in charging stations manufactured by Ekoenergetyka-Polska.

All data processed by the system and configuration data are stored in the relational database. Charge points management in accordance with OCPP including: changing charge point status, restarting, changing the OCPP configuration parameter settings, remote start and stop, SmartCharging.
EOS allows you to conveniently monitor the data. You have access to all the information that you need to properly manage the charging infrastructure. The system has implemented advanced permissions management tools which allows it to provide to a selected group of chargers.
Data export and report generator that can be customized to your needs. EOS offers the possibility to define notifications that are sent to selected recipients when certain incidents occur. The actions performed by users in the system are logged and easy to trace which increases operational security. The most important data are presented on clear, customizable dashboards
Vehicle management allows defining vehicles with more than one EVCC (Electric Vehicle Charge Controller).
Ekoenergetyka OCPP System
EOS is the backend solution offered by Ekoenergetyka-Polska which is a Charging Station Management System (CSMS based on the OCPP 2.0.1 definition)*, used for monitoring and managing any charging station compliant with OCPP 1.6-J and OCPP 2.0.1** (in parallel). EOS is compliant with VDV 261 and VDV 463***
*OCPP 1.6 uses the terms (CSMS) Charging Station Management System or Central System (CS).
**OCPP 2.0.1 – currently we support Core Messages; others are under development
***VDV 463 – under development
FLEXIBILITY
The system can be installed on the contracting authority’s resources (on-premises) or in any data center. The system is also available in the SaaS model for device monitoring.
Advanced architecture of the solution ensures high scalability, resistance and reliability. The use of the OpenID standard for user authentication enables integration with e.g. Google Authenticator or Microsoft Active Directory.
Multilingual interface: Polish, English, German and Spanish (it is possible to add additional languages to the system). The system allows integration with other applications -e.g. for data exchange (REST API).
Ekoenergetyka-Polska offers EOS in two versions – tailored to the needs of our customers: EOS Access (an excellent choice cost-wise) and EOS Full (which provides 100% functionality).
TAILORED TO YOUR NEEDS
INSTALLATION – on premises / data center / in the Saas model
EOS ACCESS – Access to the shared installation limited to your charging points
EOS FULL – dedicated installation with full administration rights
REST API – Ready to communicate with any other backend systems by REST API protocol

Ekoenergetyka Power Guard
Ekoenergetyka Power Guard (EPG) is the power management toolkit. On the one hand, it allows the user to decrease (or increase) – in a very simple and quick way – the maximum power of any charger compliant with OCPP. This tool can work with charging profiles that make the charging process more flexible and gives our customers the possibility to set the parameters depending on the date (e.g. different values on weekdays and weekends).
On the other hand, it is an advanced power management tool for groups of charging points. The main function of the system is to ensure that the maximum power of a group of chargers is not exceeded at any point in time. The advanced algorithm takes into account a number of variables: charger states (also offline), current vehicle demand, priorities…
Main features
Simple power management by the EOS operator
Advanced power management for the groups of charging points
EOS module or standalone version, also known as a Local Smart Charging Controller
Modbus TCP/IP, CAN, Ethernet integration possibility with external devices which can provide power limit or available energy measurements

Charger Management Console
A diagnostic and configuration tool that provides reliable access to data and the basic configuration of chargers manufactured by Ekoenergetyka-Polska.
To access this tool, the user just needs to connect to the charging station IP address from a web browser using standard HTTPS connection. The access to CMC is granted by individual accounts.
CMC is a great solution for customers with single chargers who opt out of CSMS and for customers with CSMS as an auxiliary solution.
Connections
User’s laptop or desktop can be connected directly (via ethernet cabie) or remotely (via loca I network) to the charging station.
Access via a web browser – no need to install additional software.

Ekoenergetyka Billing System
Ekoenergetyka Billing System is an EOS extension for billing, invoicing and payment management for standalone charging stations with payment modules or charging hubs.
Additional DataTransfer messages from OCPP 1.6-J are used for communication with chargers.
